Family Pet Veterinary

Family Pet Veterinary has been serving the West Branch, West Liberty, Atalissa, Tipton, and Iowa City area since 2007 with care for cats & dogs. Their semi-rural location allows them to offer affordable services that compete with the quality of care you’d expect from a larger animal hospital.

In January 2024, Dr. Stacy Kula purchased the veterinary clinic and became the primary veterinarian. Dr. Duster and Dr. Gene Szymkowiak both continue to see patients at Family Pet Veterinary and look forward to serving their pet patients and their families.

Their goal is to help you manage your pet’s health and enjoy a lifetime of companionship. Setting your animal up for a healthy life includes ensuring they are up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.

Family Pet Veterinary does not currently care for reptiles, birds, large animals, or livestock. When care is more complex than Family Pet Veterinary can treat in their facility, they can make referrals for internal medicine, dermatology, chemotherapy, advanced imaging and specialty surgery.

Family Pet Veterinary does not have after hours emergency staff in their facility. While they are not an emergency vet clinic, they do their very best to provide care if your pet is experiencing an emergency. Please call to let them know what emergency your pet is experiencing and they will advise if they can provide appropriate care. If they cannot provide, they will make a referral to the closest emergency facility.
