Our Mission

At Dynamic Music Studios, we are leaders in music education, producers of collaborative art, and visionaries in creating a dynamic private studio environment. We aim to instill a lifelong appreciation for music, fostering creativity and musical independence. Our collective is united by a strong sense of community, led by visionary female musicians who share a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students grow as artists and individuals.

Meet Our Owners

Sarah Beckelheimer (Piano Instructor)

With 18 years of teaching experience, Sarah’s approach centers on sparking imagination and musical understanding. Her lessons are tailored to the individual, drawing from genres like classical, musical theatre, and popular songs. Sarah’s joy comes from guiding students through their personal music journeys, helping them develop essential skills like sight-reading, ear training, and music theory while fostering a love for learning.

Christina Gentzsch (Cello Instructor)

Christina’s teaching philosophy is rooted in strong technique and individual growth. She encourages students to set personal goals and embraces mistakes as opportunities for growth. With a focus on building self-confidence and creativity, Christina helps her students discover their own musical voices while emphasizing the importance of “perfect practice” in mastering their craft.

Christina Mixemong (Violin & Viola Instructor)

Christina is passionate about creating personalized lessons that meet each student’s unique needs. Whether pushing a serious musician or nurturing a more hesitant player, she builds confidence and motivates students to love the process of learning. Her studio is a supportive space where students are challenged to dream big and achieve great things.

Dr. Jessica Saunders (Voice Instructor)

Dr. Saunders specializes in developing confident singers of all ages. She is passionate about strengthening music literacy and believes in the power of early vocal training. Jessica works with young singers, providing opportunities for one-on-one lessons or group sessions. Her teaching focuses on building strong musicianship skills, empowering students to find their voice, both musically and personally.

Dynamic Music Studios provides private and group lessons for a variety of instruments, personalized to meet each student’s musical goals. Our supportive environment helps students of all ages build confidence and develop their skills.

Private Lessons

We offer private one-on-one instruction in piano, cello, viola, violin, and voice, along with additional offerings through our Forte Cooperative Teachers. Lessons are tailored to each student, with opportunities for recitals, personalized repertoire selection, music theory, ear training, and collaboration with other students and instructors.

• Piano (Ages 5 – Adult): Weekly lessons focus on technique, sight-reading, ear training, composition, and performance preparation, with group class options available.
• Cello (Ages 6 – Adult): Students receive personalized instruction and opportunities to participate in studio recitals and local music events.
• Viola & Violin (Ages 4 – Adult): Tailored lessons include performance preparation, music theory, and audition guidance.
• Voice (Ages 8 – Adult): Lessons include warm-up techniques, personalized repertoire, and group class opportunities.

Group Lessons & Ensembles

We offer group classes for piano and voice, as well as specialized ensembles like Cello Choir and String Chamber Music classes. These group settings encourage collaboration and foster musicianship in a fun, interactive environment.

For students interested in brass, woodwinds, guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, trombone, trumpet, and more, we offer additional lessons through our Forte Cooperative Teachers.

The Forte Cooperative is a membership service designed to support independent music instructors in the Coralville/Cedar Rapids area. It provides marketing, scheduling, and performance opportunities while allowing instructors to maintain full control of their private studios. Members benefit from access to Dynamic Music Studios’ resources and community.

• Forte Membership: $50/month
  This level offers marketing and recruitment support, recital opportunities, and inclusion in the Dynamic Music Studios newsletter. Additional benefits include:
  • Promotion of your studio and bio on the Dynamic Music Studios website
  • Assistance with student recruitment
  • Your students can participate in recitals and events organized by Dynamic Music Studios
  • Inclusion of your students in the monthly newsletter, featuring event listings, student highlights, local auditions, and more
  • Marketing for any of your events/concerts on Dynamic Music Studios’ social media platforms
  • Access to a private Facebook group for sharing teaching strategies and receiving peer support
• Fortissimo Membership: $60/month
  This enhanced level includes everything from the Forte Membership, plus:
  • Membership to My Music Staff for online scheduling and studio bookkeeping under Dynamic Music Studios
  • New student registration support through Dynamic Music Studios, based on your availability in My Music Staff

Both membership levels require a one-time $20 registration fee upon joining. Special rates are available for former West Music instructors impacted by lesson program changes.
